2009-2010 Boys Basketball Team
The Grover Boys' Basketball varsity team is led by Coach Card. Coach Card has been involved with the Oak Grove basketball program for 15 years, first coaching with longtime coach Steve Carnal. Coach Card is a 1985 graduate of Oak Grove Lutheran School. He graduated from Brainerd Community College, where he played men’s basketball, and Bemidji State University, with a major in elementary education. He has coached various youth athletic programs in the area, including baseball and soccer.
The JV team is coached by Josh Kading. Coach Carlson leads the 7th and 8th grade team. Oak Grove's fifth and sixth grade team is coached by Dave Peterson.
2009-2010 Season Wrap
The Oak Grove boys’ basketball team finished the regular season undefeated with a 24-0 record and overall with a 25-2 record. The Grovers were the District 2 and Region 1 champions and finished sixth at the State Tournament in Minot. This was the first time the Grovers made a State Tournament appearance since 2001.
Shayden Akason and Sam Olson were named to the All-State Tournament team. Sam Olson, Shayden Akason, Dylan Dangerfield, and Evan Holt were named to the All-District Team and All Wild Rice Conference Team. In addition, Sam Olson was named Senior Athlete of the Year for District 2 and Region 1. He was also a second team All-State Player and will play in the Lions All-Star game in July. Coach Kyle Card received District 2, Region 1 and Class B Coach of the Year awards.
At the team banquet, the following awards were given:

Most Dedicated – Dylan Dangerfield
Most Improved – Alex Hesby
Teammate Award – Drew Zaeske
