Oak Grove Choirs

Directed by Mr. Zinter at aaron.zinter@oakgrovelutheran.com.

Oak Grove is known for its outstanding choral program. Through the years, Oak Grove choirs have been invited to numerous state, regional and national conventions. In addition to tours and concerts on campus, Oak Grove choirs appear regularly before church and civic groups, and on radio and television. Oak Grove choirs perform a wide variety of inspirational and sacred music, proclaiming God’s glory by expressing faith through songs of joy and inspiration. Oak Grove’s annual Christmas Concert celebrates the glory of Christ’s birth, and draws hundreds to the much-loved event. High school and middle school choirs are directed by Mr. Aaron Zinter and the elementary school choirs are directed by Mrs. Jessica Rogstad.

Students may participate in choir as soon as they join Oak Grove. Choral opportunities at Oak Grove include:

State Contests

Star ratings are given to the performers that rise above most others during the day of State Contest.
It is the highest rating a judge can give on each individual critique sheet. Most of our students earn a Star rating which is considered superior at the State Contest and the others usually get a "1" rating which is still considered excellent.

"Outstanding Performance"
Each judge listens to 40 or 50 entries during the day and then can decide if an Outstanding Performance is worthy. Each judge can only choose one Outstanding Performance for their room. Therefore, Outstanding Performances are incredibly rare.

The Oak Grove Madrigals have had an Outstanding Performance for the past 7 years in a row and strive to make that their goal each year to keep the streak alive!

“Sing to the Lord a new song for he has done marvelous things!”
