Oak Grove Spring Buddy Days

Oak Grove encourages all students to be involved in extra-curricular activities and to feel a part of the overall school community. Opportunities abound for participation in extracurricular activities, especially in the Fine Arts.

Fine Arts activities begin in elementary school and include choir, band, speech and theatre. With more than 80 percent of students participating, Oak Grove students excel in all Fine Arts activities.

Oak Grove’s outstanding music program provides opportunities from private instruction to performance and choir tour experiences. Students perform at numerous venues throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area and also host many events on campus.  Students now have the opportunity to perform in Oak Grove's newest facility - the Scheels Center for the Performing Arts.  Constructed from 2006-2007, the Scheels Center provides a performance space that accomodates more than 700 people, two large rehearsal halls, practice rooms, instrument storage, and a chapel.

Speech and theatre give Oak Grove students another opportunity to showcase their talents.

Oak Grove Lutheran School’s Concert Choir, directed by Aaron Zinter, will start its annual tour on March 23. This year’s program will include lively spirituals, old hymn favorites like “Beautiful Savior”, newer compositions like Frank Ticheli’s “There Will Be Stars” and other selections including composers Pavel Chesnokov, Moses Hogan, Stephen Paulus, Joshua Shank, and Aaron Zinter. The group will cover nearly 4,000 miles on their 10-day tour, visiting six states and giving 10 performances. Each concert will feature traditional and gospel selections.
