TeacHaiti Chili Feed Posted: May 6, 08
On May 16, Oak Grove’s Justice League will sponsor a chili feed to raise money and awareness for TeacHaiti.TeacHaiti is a non-profit organization supporting education scholarships in Haiti.The organization was founded by Oak Grove graduate Miquette Denie, class of 2002.Miquette grew up like millions of other children in Haiti, with little access to clothing, food or healthcare.Miquette writes, "because education has given me the audacity to dream dreams I had never thought possible before, I want to do the same for these brilliant children."
The money raised at this event will go to support Oak Grove's Justice League commitment to providing annual education scholarships to Haitian children who would not otherwise be able to attend school.The chili feed will take place in Oak Grove's Eid Center from 5:15 to 7:00 p.m., between the Middle School and High School choir concerts.The event is a free-will offering.
