Christian Studies

At Oak Grove’s north campus, students have the opportunity to select from a variety of classes and experiences throughout the year that are in harmony with how God has gifted them and that will encourage personal growth on their Christian faith journey. This “smorgasbord” approach will provide options that range from a “Study on the Gospel of John” to “Amazing Grace”, “Exploring Faith through Music” and “In the World, but not of the World”, to name a few. Each offering will include Biblical study, personal application, and evangelism. Required student portfolios will reflect their Christian Studies experience through academic projects, reflective writings, and personal “expression of faith” statements. Classroom teachers at the elementary and middle school will continue to implement our Christian Studies curriculum and be a daily presence in our students’ lives, encouraging them to grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

The method of delivery or course structure for Christian Studies may have changed, but the unchanging truth that is being taught remains the same. We remain steadfast in our belief that we must study and learn from Scripture, understand how it applies to our lives, and share this “Good News” with others.  Oak Grove has a strong desire to remain both relevant and faithful.

Homeless & Hungry
Posted: Jun 26, 08

Oak Grove students, staff, and families will once again have the opportunity to participate in “Homeless & Hungry” on October 3-5.  This year’s event has grown to include over two dozen F-M churches and schools to date.  Each participant is asked to fast for 30 hours, sleep outside in a cardboard box, raise at least $365 (enough money to feed a person for a year), and get at least 10 prayer sponsors.

This year, to help spread the visibility and impact of the event, Oak Grove will be one of many host sites. Registration for the entire event will take place at Oak Grove with the goal to have 1,000 individuals taking part. With the potential growth of this event, planning has started early.

Please consider making this a family event!  Click here  for more information on the event.  Click on the "Participate" link for registration materials.  Contact Director of Campus Ministries David Ness at 701.373.7113 with any questions.

This February, with direction from Oak Grove’s Board of Regents, David Ness and Kimberly Forness of Oak Grove and Pastor Paul Nynaas of Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo had the opportunity to travel to Luther Seminary to conduct interviews with potential internship candidates to serve jointly at Hope Lutheran and Oak Grove.  We are excited to announce that Tony Sayler will be joining us this August for an exciting year of partnership in ministry.
