Spiritual Emphasis Week/Lutheran Schools Week
March 8-12, 2010
As a part of this year’s Spiritual Emphasis Week/Lutheran Schools Week at Oak Grove Lutheran School, we will be joined by the Christian band, Sixteen Cities from Portland, Oregon. Sixteen Cities is a five-piece, Christian Rock/Alternative band that originally led worship in their high school on Wednesday mornings. Their name is taken from Joshua 19 where the tribe of Issachar receives their inheritance, which includes “sixteen cities.” 1 Chronicles 12:32 refers to the tribe of Issachar as “men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.”
In addition to having Sixteen Cities with our students during several daily chapel services the week of March 8-12, Oak Grove will be hosting a FREE concert on Wednesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. We would be honored if you would consider making this a part of your evening activities. The concert will be held in the Scheels Center for the Performing Arts on our north campus, 124 North Terrace in Fargo. Campus Ministry activities scheduled for Wednesday evenings are designed to be secondary to events held in the home congregations of Grovers. Invitations have been sent to churches as well. |

Flu/H1N1 School Procedures - Sep 29, 09 |
When parents report student absences, they are to indicate to the school office if the student is out sick with flu like symptoms (for reporting purposes). Flu like symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, chills, runny stuffy nose, headache, body aches, vomiting and diarrhea.
Students who have flu-like symptoms are to stay home from school; students are to remain out of school for 24 hours after a fever breaks without medication. For most children this is typically 5-7 days.
Any child with a fever equal or greater than 100.0 will be isolated from other students and sent home immediately.
Parents must have a plan in place to pick up a sick child from school within 30 minutes of receiving the call that their child is ill. Students will not be permitted to stay in school if they are showing any signs of being ill.
Getting vaccinated against the seasonal flu and H1N1 is the best defense. The second best defense is frequent hand washing.
Please download and read the following references on the flu.
