Nineteen Oak Grove middle school students competed at the Regional Science Fair on March 4.  Read on for the results.

Girls in grade 7-12 are invited to join us for an exciting 2008 softball season! The team ended last year’s regular season in first place, and we are looking forward to another strong season this year! This year’s teams are forming NOW…the season starts March 1 for JV and Varsity, and March 8 for Junior High.

An informational meeting and SIGN-UPS will be held this Wednesday @ 3:30 p.m. in Room 112.

Oak Grove will host a College Financial Aid Night on February 7 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. in the Eid Center.  All Oak Grove sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to attend for vital information on post-high school planning.  Jane Williams, financial aid director at Concordia College, will present information on financial aid and the FAFSA.  Steve Schaefer, associate director of admissions at Concordia College, will speak about how to pick a college that fits.  Don’t miss this event! 

The PLAN test is the preACT test offered to sophomores as a way to get ready for taking the ACT their junior and/or senior year.  The information that we get back from the PLAN test helps students check that they are on track in their preparation for college.  ALL sophomores planning to attend a 2 or 4-year college are highly encouraged to take the PLAN test.

Sophomores will have the opportunity to take the PLAN on Tuesday, November 27, from 8:15 to 11:30 a.m.  The cost is $10.00.  Checks should be made payable to Oak Grove.  Students can sign up in the high school office.

Oak Grove’s marketing class at the high school is opening a coffee shop called HeBrews Coffee.  The students in the class performed a market analysis, researched the process of starting a business and proposed opening the shop to administrators.  The class project is turning into a coffee shop, which will serve two flavors of cappuccino, hot chocolate and healthy snacks.

Freshmen and new student elections will be held on Monday, September 10 during high school lunch in the Eid Center.  Please sign up in the north campus office by the end of the day on Friday, September 7 if you would like to appear on the ballot.
