Back to Back Wins! - Dec 9, 08

Two years of Fill the Dome, two high school division wins for Oak Grove Lutheran School!

Oak Grove’s students participated in Fill the Dome 2008 in November and collected the most non-perishable and canned goods of any high school in the area.  For Oak Grove’s win, the school will receive $1,000 to give to a charity of our choice.

This year’s Fill the Dome event was again an overwhelming success, raising 67 tons of food (134,788 pounds) and $57,735 – far exceeding both last year’s totals and the goals set for the 2008 event.  All food raised will stay in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Thirty percent of funds raised will stay in Fargo, with the other 70% going to rural North Dakota - where people need this food the most.

Congratulations to Oak Grove’s senior class for winning the class competition!  They collected the most food and goods of all the middle school and high school classes.

Way to go students!

Fill the Dome - Oct 30, 08

Student Leaders from Oak Grove, as well as from other area schools, are once again coordinating a metro wide food drive – Fill the Dome – to take place November 25 in the FargoDome.  The goal this year is to cover the floor of the dome with over 50,000 pounds of food and to raise over $50,000 for the food banks and area shelters.  This student led initiative will once again make a positive impact on hunger issues in our community.

Oak Grove’s semester test policy has been changed.  Read on for details.
