In its 5th year, The Barry Foundation is pleased to announce the Class of 2020 Barry Scholars, which includes two Oak Grove Seniors, Jorgen Deitz and Sarah Philip.

Jorgen has been awarded the Barry Scholarship and Sarah has been awarded the Barry Select Scholarship.

The Barry Scholarship Program Overview: The Barry Foundation provides a two or four-year, annually-renewable college scholarship of up to $5,000 per year for graduating high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership potential, and commitment to serving their community during their high school participation with the Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) program.

The Barry Select Scholarship Program Overview: The Barry Foundation is piloting a two-year annually-renewable college scholarship of up to $2,500 per year for graduating seniors from alternative high schools who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership potential, and commitment to serving their community during their high school participation with the Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) program.

The Barry Foundation offers resources, encouragement, and inspiration beyond the financial assistance needed to earn a college degree. Our goal is to not only help students succeed in college but also to ensure that students thrive and succeed in life after graduation.

Inclusive of this year, four students from Oak Grove High School have received the Barry Scholarship:

  • Davis Sunderland – 2018
  • Elena Linster – 2019
  • Jorgen Deitz – 2020
  • Sarah Philip – 2020
