11.13.2020 – Activities & Athletics Update
Due to Governor Burgum’s Executive Order issued late Friday evening, we will be suspending our NDHSAA (and club) winter activities until December 14th.
This does include 7/8 girls basketball (first game scheduled for Monday), High School Girls Basketball (scheduled for first practice Monday), High School Boys Basketball (scheduled for Nov 30th start), JO Volleyball try-outs (scheduled for Nov 22), Grover Youth Basketball (GYBA), and Theatre Arts (Auditions were to be announced in Dec). The NDHSAA Board will meet this week (as this order came from the Governor) and I anticipate more information at that point and can share more with all you as we learn. I will not make any decisions on cancellation of seasons (7/8 GBB as an example) until a later date and more information is known. I appreciate your understanding and know the value of these tremendous experiences and opportunities for our students.

10.16.2020 – Masking, Close Contacts & Quarantining
Students who are PROPERLY wearing masks all day will be considered “Close Contacts” but will NOT have a mandatory quarantine from school if they are within the 6 ft. circle of a COVID case. Students and parents will be given the option to quarantine if they choose to do so. Students will be moved into the Acorn Academy or the Oak Grove Academy distance learning should they choose to quarantine.

10.16.2020 – Approved Masks
The North Dakota Department of Health has updated guidance on face coverings and has listed “Neck Gaters,” bandanas, and vented masks as unapproved face coverings for the new quarantine exemption. Please wear a qualifying face covering (Shown below) while in all school buildings.

9.14.2020 – COVID-19 Decision Trees
The COVID-19 Task Force has crafted two decision trees to help you navigate through possible COVID-19 symptoms and exposure situations. On first look, these decision trees are rather intimidating. If your child is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or your child has been exposed to COVID-19, please call the school and we will walk through the situation and the appropriate decision tree together.
Our hope is that these decision trees will help families better understand the decision-making process and increase communication between home and school. Thank you for your continued support as we work to navigate the school year together.

A Day in the Life document is linked below for both a High School Student and a Middle School Student. Please feel free to open those and look through them so you have a deeper understanding of what a day may look like.
Take a look at the “School Attendance Decision Tree” if you have any questions on how to proceed if you or your child is feeling some of the symptoms of COVID-19. This document may not answer ALL of your questions, but it will be a start. This is the latest flow chart we have from the Department of Health, and we continue to research questions we have through our COVID Task Force. This document, like everything else COVID-related, is subject to change, and we will alert you should changes be made.
ONLINE LEARNERS: Oak Grove Academy Learners.
Please plan to pick up your online learning kits, including needed devices on Wednesday, August 26 between 8:00 and 4:00.

8.14.20 | Email to Parents
Dear Grover Families,
In Colossians 3:12, Paul writes, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” You have all done just that! Since March, we have come through a great many questions, concerns, highs, and lows together. We continue to weather the storm, and we will continue on together to calmer seas. Through it all, your patience and generosity of spirit have been a constant that is welcome and dear to us here at school.
We are finally able to share our Oak Grove Lutheran School Restart Plan and FAQ documents. Hopefully, it will help to shed a bit more light on what school will look like in a couple of weeks. Please understand that as the COVID-19 situation changes, these living documents may change as well.
We will be back in touch with you to get a final decision on your child’s learning mode choice in a few days, but the last survey was VERY helpful to guide decisions outlined in the plan. Thank you for your willingness to be a part of this planning. We will also be in touch about various opportunities you may have to offer your help to our community this year.
We are counting the days until we get to have our school family back with us again. We hope the kids are just as excited to join us on August 27!
Yours in Christ, Oak Grove Lutheran School Administration
