Year You Started at Oak Grove: My first year teaching at Oak Grove was the 1992-93 school year.
Educational Background: I graduated from Concordia College (Moorhead) in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Education. I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from North Dakota State University in 1991 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling 1995.
The greatest blessing of my life is my family. Mary and I were married in 1986 and have lived and taught in the area for the past 32 years. Our three children, Rebecca, Bradley and Kyle graduated from Oak Grove and are currently pursuing their educations and their careers. We love spending time together as a family any chance we get, but those opportunities have become less frequent. Mary and I are also enjoying our empty nest and the freedom of having fewer schedules to consider.
I also feel blessed to have taught at Oak Grove for the past 27 years. During my years here, I have served, at various times, as school counselor, girls’ basketball coach, academic dean, and English teacher. I appreciate the opportunity I have had to be a part of the lives of well over one thousand students who have graduated from Oak Grove during my tenure, and I am grateful for consistently having outstanding colleagues who make my job more fun and rewarding.
