Winning a National Merit Scholarship Competition depends on more than your PSAT score. Your academic record, SAT scores, extracurricular and leadership experiences, and an essay are also considered. Other factors include recommendations from your school, your school's curricula and grading system, and your state residency.

There are approximately 4.5 million Seniors in the USA. Approximately 1.6 million students enter the NMSC, and 15,000 are chosen as scholarship finalists…you do the math as to the percentage of who makes it to the finals.

Oak Grove is widely recognized for the strength and quality of its academic program. Oak Grove is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and “Accredited with Commendation” by the State of North Dakota.

Students engage in classroom discussions and activities that encourage them to think critically. They benefit from small class sizes and a commitment to individual attention. Oak Grove students consistently test higher in achievement tests, and more than 96% of Oak Grove graduates pursue degrees in higher education.

The Guidance Office would be happy to help with any questions!
