Jerry and Sharon Gorden nurtured a sense of family among faculty, staff and students at Oak Grove. Jerry taught biology, physical science and physical education and coached wrestling from 1964 – 1971. He became principal in 1972 and served as president from 1973 – 1988. Under Jerry’s leadership, Oak Grove added a junior high, created the development department and build the Eid Center. After raising four children, Sharon served in the development office from 1979 – 1987. Her gift of hospitality was evident every time the Gordens welcomed guests to their home. Christian ministry, service clubs and community projects are just some of the ways Jerry and Sharon serve others.
