Living the Mission

Don and Rhoda Myrvik

Rhoda graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1954, attended Augsburg College, and married Don on August 17, 1957. She served as a staff member and organist in churches in Duluth, Fargo, Minneapolis, and Moorhead, while teaching piano to students of all ages. Thus, her career has revolved around family, piano and church work throughout her whole life. Don and Rhoda met at Augsburg College. They have shared their passion for the work of the church, through music and Bible studies and regular service to others. Their sons, Michael and Peter, were born in the 1960s, and now have careers in Fargo and in Minneapolis. Don worked in church music and in educational administration until he discovered the field of fund development at Concordia College in 1988. After moving to Moorhead, Don joined Rhoda frequently at Oak Grove events and friendships. He was blessed to be called to assist Oak Grove in 2011, and to become deeply exposed to the richness and value of an Oak Grove education.
