Gordon Langseth graduated from Oak Grove in 1943. He served as dormitory dean and basketball coach at Oak Grove while attending Concordia College. After college he returned to the family farm where he and his wife Ione continued to work for more than 40 years, being recognized multiple times for outstanding farming practices. Gordon served on the Oak Grove Board of Regents for 10 years, elected as chairman for five years. He was especially generous in assisting students with financial need. Gordon served on boards for St. Like’s Hospital, Bethany Homes, St. John Church and the Farm Bureau. He was active in his church as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent and talented musician.
