Sanford Fuglestad

Sanford “Corky” Fuglestad graduated from Oak Grove in 1947. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended Concordia College and graduated in 1954. Corky went on to earn his master’s degree in social work from Florida State University in 1956 before working in mental health centers in Jamestown, N.D, and Austin, MN. He retired from Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota after 31 years of serving as a counselor and later as the regional director of northwest Minnesota. The Fuglestad roots at Oak Grove run deep – Corky’s grandfather was one of the school’s founders and five generations of Corky’s family have earned Oak Grove diplomas, including his wife, five children, four aunts, four siblings and several grandchildren.
