Middle school students recently put compassion into action by creating fleece tie blankets for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Fargo. Before starting winter break, they spread out in the gym to cut and tie fleece blankets together. Each blanket goes to a child staying there.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay together while a child receives medical treatment. It is a joy to watch Grovers give back and see how their actions can help members of our community when they need it the most.
This project is an annual tradition for Oak Grove – one that’s been ongoing for twenty years. Many longstanding faculty members cannot remember a time before tie blankets at Oak Grove!
Service learning is a core part of the Oak Grove experience, as we are called to be humble servants by Christ. Service projects throughout the year help inspire students to lead with purpose, compassion, and faith.
