As a student, Don Idso was active in athletics and served as quarterback of the football team, played varsity basketball and was the state pole vault champion in 1966. Don also sang in the Concert Chori for three years and served as the junior class president. During his senior year, he recieved the Quanbeck Athletic Award. After high school, Don attended Concordia College in Moorhead and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. He continued his education and earned his master’s degree in Elementary Education. Don says, “I realize now more than ever that my faith experience at Oak Grove is to be cherished. Oak Grove provided just the right environment for mental and spiritual growth.” He credits the faculty and staff for taking a personal interest in his education, and for helping him to grow in confidence. Don is married to Adele and they are both retired elementary educators.
