Kyle played varsity football, basketball and ran track during high school. After graduation, he went on to play football at Minot State while earning a B.S. in Accounting. He also earned his Masters degree in Management with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from University of Mary. Kyle served as head football coach at Oak Grove from 2003 to 2007. During that time he amassed a 41-12 overall record and won the North Dakota State Championship in 2007. In 2011, Kyle became the Defensive Coordinator for Concordia College and has coached All American, All Region and All Conference players.
Kyle served in the US Air Force and Army for 27 years and in 2014, retired with a rank of Major. He has received numerous Air Force, Navy and Army Reserve medals. He was deployed on five overseas missions and was lead medical planner on three humanitarian medical missions.
