Laura Utke was Valedictorian of her graduating class. In addition to being a top scholar, Laura played basketball and volleyball, ran track, sang in the Chapel Choir, Concert Choir and Madrigals and played in the band. She was a four time letter winner in both basketball and volleyball and had more than 1,000 career points in basketball. Laura also earned 21 State Music Contest star ratings and provided piano accompaniment for concerts. Laura reflects on her time at Oak Grove with gratitude. She says her high school experience of learning, creating, playing and growing, while immersed in a spiritual community, was truly a gift. After high school, Laura attended Concordia College where she was a two-time All-American in track and field and set a school record in the weight throw at 54’4″.
