Lindsey Leitner saw success in academics, athletics, music and leadership. She was a member of the Chapel and Concert Choirs as well as the National Honor Society. Lindsey was also crowned Homecoming Queen in 2000 and was the Valedictorian for the class of 2001.
Lindsey was an accomplished volleyball and basketball player. She played varsity volleyball for five years, was team captain for two seasons, and amassed numerous recognitions during her career including Most Valuable player, Top Defensive and Offensive player, Top Server and Most Dedicated player. During the 1998 State Volleyball tournament, Lindsey was a member of the consolation championship team and in her senior year, was named the NDHSCA outstanding Senior Athlete.
After high school, Lindsey attended college at Colorado State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Mars Hill and is currently working toward her Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision at NDSU. Lindsey credits her coaches and teachers for being instrumental in forming what she believes to be a call to work with kids. Lindsey believes the strong sense of community, tradition and faith made Oak Grove a wonderful place to grow up and thrive. “The commitment and investment by teachers, coaches and administrative staff provided me with the confidence and faith I needed to flourish.”
