During his high school career at Oak Grove, Marshall was recognized as an outstanding student and exceptional athlete. He was named “All City” in football, basketball and track, and also lettered all four years in these sports. He received afull four year football scholarship to Concordia College where he graduated with a double major in History/Political Science and Physical Education. Marshall married his high school sweetheart, Gretel Haaland, class of 1957. They moved to Vista, California in 1966 where they stayed active in church activities, teaching and owning/managing two driving schools. They have five children, 6 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren whom they have always taught to give their talents and awards to God. Marshall gives this Hall of Fame Award to God.
