Dr. Hiram and Ada Drache have enjoyed sharing their passion for history with the region. After serving the the Air Force as a B-17 lead navigator in World War II, Hiram received his B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College, his M.A. from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. from the University of North Dakota. From 1952 – 1991 he was a history professor at Concordia College. Hiram wrote many books focused on agriculture, farming, entrepreneurship. In 2006 he released ” A Century in the Park,” a book compiling the history of Oak Grove. Hiram and Ada both faithfully served on the Board of Regents. Ada teamed with Hiram on many of his writing projects beginning with his master’s degree papers. In the eyes of their editor, Ada consistently provided the best manuscripts ever received, as she served as grammarian and editor for all of Hiram’s books and manuscripts.
