Malcolm and June Tweten

Malcolm and June (Gjelness) Tweten were born and raised near Reynolds, N.D. June Attended Concordia College before marrying Malcolm in 1951. They purchased a farm near Buxton, N.D, which they farmed for 40 years, focusing on growing potatoes. From 1972 – 1989 Malcolm served in the North Dakota State House of Representatives and was elected to two terms in the State Senate. In 1979 he designed and build NoKota Packers, Inc. a processing plant that packages potatoes to distribute around the country. Malcolm also served on the Oak Grove Board of Regents from 1991 – 2002. While raising seven children, June still found time to direct the church choir, teach Sunday school and lead WELCA and Highland Lutheran Church in Buxton. She has also provided leadership to philanthropic activities at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo.
