A Message Regarding Fall 2020 and COVID-19: Oak Grove Lutheran School is pleased to announce that the Kjos Early Learning Center (ELC) will be re-opened for Fall of 2020. We are working closely with the Department of Human Services, which is our ELC accrediting agency, Oak Grove’s Covid-19 task force, and teachers and staff to help bring about a great start for our youngest Grovers. As always, the health and safety of our students and staff are highly regarded, and as such, we will follow the guidelines from the Department of Human Services, which we expect to be updated throughout the summer.
We continue to work on how we can safely, efficiently, and intentionally build a great experience for our K-12 Grovers. Right now, the thought is to approach each “grade unit” (Early Elementary, Elementary, Middle School, and High School) with specific educational needs and how we can best serve them both on campus and in a distance learning situation next year, if necessary. We are researching this re-open in many ways, including regional schools’ restart plans, other state’s educational restart plans, CDC guidance as well as our internal Covid-19 Task Force, and of course, feedback from families as well as teachers. We will keep you updated as we get more information from the ND Department of Public Instruction as to what we’re able to do in each of the phases of the ND Smart Restart Guidelines, which will be updated throughout the summer. Thank you for your support as we look with hope and excitement on how we navigate another great school year.
