Oak Grove’s New Addition: Sunderland Hall

Oak Grove’s 119th year is underway, and teachers are busy moving into our new space on the North Campus. Starting on November 11th, the building will be open for classes, lunch, and student use.

This new centerpiece building is named Sunderland Hall, in honor of the David and Marlys Sunderland family, whose affinity for the school includes volunteer service of over 20 years, a generation of graduates, and financial investment in the Acorns to Oaks campaign.

Derek Sunderland, writing on behalf of the family, shared that “Oak Grove has provided a wonderful, faith-based education for our grandsons and sons, and we couldn’t be more proud to be able to support the school and its mission for the future.”

The people of Oak Grove are deeply grateful for the Sunderland family’s unselfish service and generous investments in facilities and programming. Every student who graduates from Oak Grove, starting in 2026, will attend classes and will eat meals in Sunderland Hall. These named spaces become part of a school’s culture and our student’s collective experiences.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Oak Grove’s mission and this transformational campaign.
